New Delhi, July 24 (IANS) It was a hot and muggy morning in the capital Tuesday with the minimum temperature settling at 29.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above the average for the season. The met department has forecast light rains later in the day.
"The skies would be generally cloudy by afternoon. Light rains and thunder showers are likely later in the day," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.
Rainfall recorded in the city Monday was a meagre 0.1 mm, while the maximum temperature stood at 37.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average.
"Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to stay around 37 and 29 degrees Celsius," the official added.
Humidity at 8.30 a.m. Tuesday stood at 75 percent.
