Unstable weather, rain expected in parts of UAE on Tuesday, Wednesday

The low pressure area covering the country is characterised by unstable weather due to the rising of warm air and wind blowing in an anti-clockwise direction, a forecaster from the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology told Gulf News. He said as the warm air rises, it cools and condenses to form clouds that could bring heavy rain.

Unstable weather with chances of heavy rain due to a low pressure area is expected to prevail over the eastern and central part of the country on Tuesday and Wednesday, a weather forecaster said.

On Monday afternoon, heavy rain was reported in Beda Zayed near Madinat Zayed in Abu Dhabi at 20 millimetres while moderate to heavy rain was reported in eastern parts of Dubai and some areas in Sharjah.

The cloud cover over the eastern and southern part of the country will bring slight relief in the summer heat, the forecaster said. “The increase in the amount of clouds and precipitation will lower temperature in the evening by six to eight degrees.” The temperature in the western part of the country will hover between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius minimum and up to 46C maximum.

The forecaster advised the public to exercise caution as moderate winds may blow and kick dust, reducing visibility inland. The sea will also be moderate in general, becoming rough at times in the northern part of the Oman sea.
