The holy month of Ramzan begins on Wednesday in Kerala with the sighting of the new moon at Wayanad.During the period, Muslims observe fasting during the day.
Among those who announced the sighting of the moon includes Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) state supremo Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal and Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar.
