Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani collects 98 crores within 6 days of release

Director Ayan Mukherji's directorial venture Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has created history of sorts by collecting a whopping Rs 98 crorer within six days of its release.

The movie, which has ex-couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, is just Rs 2 crore away from entering the elite 100 crore club.

Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the film's tremendous achievements.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone came together for the first time after their bitter breakup in 2010. The ex-lovers had last worked inBachna Ae Haseeno in 2008.

Though the movie was panned by critics, the movie has clicked with audience especially youngsters.

Film's songs Badtameez Dil, Diliwali Girlfriend and Ranbir's special song ghagra with his teenage crush Madhuri Dixit also played a major part in drawing people to the cinema halls.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani directed by Ayan Mukherji of Wake Up Sid fame is produced by Dharma Productions and also stars Kalki Koechlin and Kunaal Roy Kapur.
