New Delhi, Jan 17 (Agencies) The hearing of Delhi gang rape case was transferred to Fast Track Session Court on Thursday, one month after the brutal incident, where a young woman was raped on a moving bus on December 16, 2012.

The five adult accused of the rape could face the death penalty if convicted. The case was moved to fast track court as the attack drew nationwide protests and discussions on violence against women in the country.

The student died on December 29 after 13 days of the attack. In a hearing on Thursday, Magistrate Namrita Aggarwal sent the rape case to a fast-track court and set a hearing for Monday there.

The case against one of the suspect in the case, who claims to be a juvenile is being handled separately. Meanwhile, the lawyers for the five have said police have physically harassed their clients to force them confess to the crime.
