Beijing, June 22 (IANS) A die-hard Chinese fan of the England football team died at his home in Changsha in Hunan province after continuously watching games for 11 nights since the start of Euro 2012.
The 26-year-old man died June 19. He was said to be healthy and fit, and one who played for his college soccer team, the China Daily reported.
The man watched a match between Italy and Ireland, and drank a lot of beer with his friends in a bar till 5 a.m. June 19. He returned home to sleep, from which he never woke up.
His mother found him dead on the bed, when she tried to wake him up June 20.
A doctor said multiple factors led to the man's death, including prolonged sleep deprivation, massive amounts of beer, a bath after drinking as well as a low indoor temperature.
The cause of death was low blood sugar and slow blood circulation.
