Washington, March 5 (IANS) Seventh-seed Kevin Anderson of South Africa defeated qualifier Marinko Matosevic of Australia 6-4, 7-6(2) to win the ATP Delray Beach International tennis tournament here.
Anderson won his second career title Sunday, to go with a triumph on home soil in Johannesburg last year.
The big-serving South African couldn't convert any of his eight break chances in the second set, but took control early in the tiebreaker to finish off the victory in just under two hours.
Matosevic, ranked 173rd in he world, was playing in his first ATP final, Xinhua reports.
