Tokyo, March 6 (IANS) Boosted by fuel-efficient models, sales of new imported vehicles in Japan recorded a 21.8 percent growth in February on year, according to the Japan Automobile Importers Association Tuesday.
The number of imported vehicles stood at 24,821 units, the association said.
Volkswagen beat Nissan to be the champion on the ranking list with 5,174 units.
The Japanese government has provided subsidy to encourage the purchase of environmentally-friendly vehicles in the country.
