New Delhi, March 17 (IANS) Delhi Police has been allocated Rs.3,867 crore in the union budget for 2012-13.

Of the total, Rs.3,606 crore is for training and technology upgradation of the force and Rs.198 crore for public works. Another Rs.62 crore will help build accommodation for policemen.

The allocation for public works like building offices is up from last year's Rs. 21 crore.

For developing traffic and communication network and a model traffic system, the allocation has dropped from last fiscal's Rs. 82 crore to Rs. 20 crore.

While Rs.2 crore was allocated for installation of traffic signals in previous years' budget, this has increased to Rs.3 crore this year.

Another Rs.3 crore has been earmarked for upgrading training in the force, up from last year's Rs.1 crore.
