Dehradun, March 9 (IANS) The Congress party said Friday it will meet the Uttarakhand governor to stake claim to form the government in the hill state as it has got the support of 36 legislators in the 70-member assembly.
"We will meet the governor at 12 noon. We have got the support of 36 MLAs required to form the government in the state," said a Congress leader.
Giving out the numbers, he said besides the 32 Congress legislators, three independents and one Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) legislator had given letters of support to them.
The Congress party won 32 seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bagged 31 in the assembly polls.
