Islamabad, Feb 2 (IANS) A special committee has been formed to help improve the condition of hospitals in Pakistan's Punjab province following the death of over 100 people who took a contaminated heart medicine.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif formed the committee to improve the plight of hospitals, reported Geo News.

The panel was formed after a laboratory in Britain found traces of an antimalarial drug in one of the medicines suspected to have caused the deadly reactions that killed more than 100 patients who were undergoing treatment at Lahore's Punjab Institute of Cardiology.

The committee would also revise recruitment process for drug inspectors.

The chief minister ordered the setting up of special counters to recall Isotab tablets from all over the province.
