Beijing, Feb 2 (IANS) China will send 30,000 experts to encourage talents at the grassroot levels in its small towns and villages as part of a special programme.

According to sources with Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the programme will take five years to send the experts to serve in regions under county level, including countryside, towns, communities, and small and medium-sized enterprises, Xinhua reported.

As per the ministry, these experts will help the grassroots units to solve local technical problems, cultivate local talents, put scientific research into daily use and carry out public welfare activities.

The experts will be selected from institutions of higher education, institutions of scientific research, and state-owned big and medium-sized enterprises.

Chinese talents play an important role in promoting scientific research, economic development and strategic transformation at primary level, said officials with the ministry.

But experts, especially high-calibre specialists, are poorly distributed in the country, the officials added.
