Islamabad, Jan 28 (IANS) Pakistan Army troopers Saturday killed 12 militants and took control of a highly volatile area in the country's northwest tribal region, a media report said.
Troops attacked a militant hideout in Jogi area of Kurram Agency, one of the seven tribal regions along Afghan border, Xinhua reported citing Urdu TV channel Dunya.
The army had cleared most of the Kurram region from the Taliban last year. However, some areas including Jogi were still under the control of militants from where they carried out attacks on army and pro-government tribal groups.
